This site is for news and commentary – absolutely. But, our team also wants to keep growing and expanding. That’s where you, as members, come in.
Because we do not take money from advertisers, big-name donors or crowdfunding sites, it’s up to our community to keep this initiative alive. And, because that’s the case, we want to be as transparent as we can about what we’re doing with your membership money!
Our immediate goals:
At sign up, members will gain access to ThePublica exclusive podcasts, news, commentary, deep-dives and video reporting. Each month our podcasters will create a member’s only show that you can access right here. Our writers will produce all sorts of opinion and deep-dive pieces that also can be accessed with your membership.
Of course, to keep the lights on, your memberships will allow us to keep and grow to have:
They will allow us to cover our hosting and operational costs (nothing worse than the 404 page, hey?)
You will also gain access to the member’s only Discord, where we hope to create a neat community of people, as well as do some community organizing to address things going on in your own backyards.
