Amber Heard has reportedly left Hollywood and moved to Spain with her two-year-old daughter Oonagh.
According to The Daily Mail’s Alison Boshoff, Heard “quit Hollywood and quietly relocated to Madrid, Spain.”
A friend of Heard told Boshoff that the actress is “bilingual in Spanish and is happy [in Spain], raising her daughter away from all the noise.”
The friend also said, “I don’t think she is in any hurry to return to work or to Hollywood, but she will probably come back when the time is right, for the right project.”
To compound these rumors, Heard sold her Mojave Desert home in Yucca Valley, California for $1.1 million.
It’s reported that the Mojave estate was purchased “through an anonymous trust in 2019 which reportedly had ties with the Aquaman actress for just over $570k.”
Heard has also been absent from the limelight since the defamation trial brought by her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, came to an end last year.
In 2019, Depp, 59, sued Heard for $50 million, claiming she lied about him abusing her during their marriage and defamed him in her 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post.
The actress countersued for $100 million.
The judge awarded Depp $15 million but later reduced the amount to $10.35 million, citing a punitive damages cap in the state of Virginia. The judge also awarded Heard $2 million after winning one count of her countersuit, according to The Guardian.
After several appeals by Heard’s legal team, the new amount owed was $8.3 million. Heard’s insurance company along with Depp’s council settled the case at just $1 million.
Heard reportedly hasn’t worked since filming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in 2021. She was not asked to return to the film after losing her countersuit.
Photos have circulated over the past several months showing the Hollywood starlet with her daughter Oonagh and girlfriend Eve Barlowe in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. At the time, she was believed to be living in a house she rented on the island.
It is now reported that she has moved into a permanent new home outside Madrid.
After the defamation suit, Heard began using the alias Martha Jane Canary (aka Calamity Jane) to travel. The alias is allegedly an attempt to stop the media finding her location.
Some also believe Heard’s name choice is her way of taking one last jab at her ex-husband Johnny Depp. He has told the press in the past that he comes from a Native American bloodline.
