A Kentucky Senator is under fire after making sympathetic comments about pedophiles during a Judiciary Committee meeting. On February 29, Senator Karen Berg argued that access to “child sex dolls” could be beneficial for “minor attracted persons” during a debate session on a bill that would prohibit the possession of such dolls in the state.
In a clip first shared on X by a user with the handle @way2muchJRMC, Berg, a Democrat, admits she was unfamiliar with child sex dolls and Googled them the night before the committee meeting debating HB 207.
“Apparently there is research on the subject. But there are what they call MAPs, minor-attracted persons, and the limited amount of research that’s done on these dolls, guys, suggests that actually, for people who are attracted to minors, that these dolls actually decrease their proclivity to go out and attack children,” Berg claimed.
I tried to think of something to tweet along with this video from earlier today in the #KYGA24…but i had nothin…so figured I’d just let @karenforky speak for herself on the topic of “minor attracted persons” using child sex dolls to satisfy their demonic desires! Continuing, she argued that allowing pedophiles to have access to “child sex dolls” would offer them a “release” that would make them less likely to sexually abuse children.
“And what was interesting is the research did not support the same conclusions for people who were adult-attracted using dolls that did not diminish their proclivity to engage other people,” said Berg.
Concluding, Berg added that despite research being very limited on this topic, she was confident because it appeared conclusive.
“Like I say, the research is not very good. It is not comprehensive, but the research that is out there is conclusive. Equivocally conclusive,” she said.
Republican Senator Whitney Westerfield quickly expressed his disagreement with Berg’s disturbing claims.
“We’ve got expert testimony … which says the exact opposite,” Westerfield said, appearing to be quite perplexed by Berg’s statements.

Berg’s sympathetic comments towards pedophiles sparked outrage on X, with many expressing disgust at Berg’s proposition.
“Democrat Senator Karen Berg called pedophiles ‘minor attracted persons’ and argued that it’s good for them to have CHILD SEX DOLLS they can use,” wrote filmmaker and political commentator Robby Starbuck. “Democrats like Karen are sexualizing kids and defending pedophiles. Pure evil, criminally stupid or both.”

Others pointed out how strange it was for Berg to say the research wasn’t comprehensive but was somehow conclusive:
User @boysvswomen wrote: “She described the research as not being conclusive, being not very good, and even pointed out an inconsistency with other sexual attraction in the findings – but still thought it was a good thing to argue for? Why?”

smh
This is not the first time Senator Berg has come under controversy.
Last March, after Republican lawmakers in the state successfully pushed through a bill restricting “gender-affirming” care for minors, Berg claimed that the United States had a “national, concerted, well-funded effort to eventually erase gay and trans children from our schools.”

Berg herself was the parent of a trans-identified female who took her own life at age 24.
